NETBOOKS!!!

I have a netbook, A digital learning tool that millions of people use globally. You can use this for many things, this netbook has been in use for at least 2 years. This is what 2 years of netbooks has been like:

What I like about the netbooks is because if you write a story and you want to share it,you can! With the help of blogger. Another reason on how the netbook is better is because we don’t cut down trees to make books.

The last reason is you learn and  discover anything on the netbook and if your parents ask you to do something on the computer, you will already know how to do it. Those are Three reasons on how the netbook is better.

Here’s some sentences about why the netbooks can sometimes be a pain. They can be a pain because the netbook keyboard is very small. Also you can’t make animations or movies on them, Because they DON’T HAVE THE PROGRAMMES...

I going to be creative and make up hot it can work. I put the movie and animating programmes on a chip, (Not a potato chip) and insert it into my SD card slot and There you GO!!!!

NO!!! Camp Bentzon Is OVER!!!

Last week was 101% AWESOME because...It was Camp Bentzon on KAWAU ISLAND!!! But sadly it had to come to an end. I have missed laughter that I shared with my friends on Kawau Island. I bursted with joy when we arrived to the Island,and then sob inside when we came back.

I really enjoyed the Kayaking,Sailing,Abseiling and especially the night concert. The group that I was in was the best group MANSION. I was the team leader and the team parents were my Mum & Dad,Mrs Parsons and Mr Parsons. The First day was a tiring day and that was because we went on a LONG hike. That was about 3-4 kilometers...

When we got back we had free time before lunch, but first we had to sort out our cabins and set up our beds. I was in cabin B with Zyrin,Paris,Makaiah,sonni and myself. I was originally going to be in cabin H with Rocky,Isara,Uili(Willie),jabez and myself but Levi, wanted to be in that cabin so badly,I could see it in his eyes. I said to him “Do you want to be in this cabin and then you can take my spot” He didn’t say anything so I lefted it.

Then Isara said to levi” Wyatt said did you want to take his spot,YES OR NO!” Then Levi said “oh oh yes please” so I let him be in there. I thought that was a Very good deed. Our first activity was abseiling and I was so eager to finish and climb down the wall, We had a choice of climbing down the big wall or the small wall and I chose the high wall I was fast climbing up the ladder. I was a bit shaky we I got to the top and she hooked me onto the ropes.

She told me to lean back and face my butt to the world and she meant to face it to the sea. At that moment I was scared but it was now or never and I climb down that wall like a cheeseball.

My favorite activity was sailing because when the wind blew fast I turned the sail to the corner of the boat,and my boat would tip but that is how you sail. I was so fast at sailing that Peter (Our Instructor) said I was an natural.

At kayaking I was a gentleman because we played a game on the kayaks and Erin the wife of Peter, picked a girl (Giselle) and the Boy (Me) and we had to climb to each others kayak and sit in it and I went out fast and trie to get to her kayak.

And she was stubborn and she was scared. So I said “ Go to my boat and I will hold the kayaks together. So once she reached my kayak I had to quickly jump into her kayak. When we went away I overheard her talking to my dad and she said “ Your son is a real gentleman, I have seen no boy on this camp help and wait for the girl they would just race across and not wait for the girl. On the last day at lunch Miss Garden said that their was a red fishing rod there for me, Peter and Erin had donated it to me because about me being a gentleman. I was really grateful.

Tomorrow, It's CAMP KAWAU

1 more awesome day until camp Benson on KAWAU ISLAND! where we get to eat a LOT of food and do all-day activities.

Camp Benson is a camp that lasts for 4 days and 3 nights. We get on a bus drive for 1 and a half hours!!! And then, we have a half an hour ferry ride. Then we arrive at the wharf where we unload.

Some awesome activities at kawau island are abseiling,the burma trail and cool other things.I really like the sports tournaments all around the island. Theres a confidence course that test if you are really afraid of heights, I  twould not know since I have not been there.

I am looking forward to the abseiling because it’s a true test if you are tough or not. One other thing is the swimming because you get to jump off the wharf and have a laugh with your friends.

One challenge that I have to face is the kayaking because there is stingrays that can rock you kayak. Once a boy had one jump into his kayak.

I will like camp benson because first of all it’s on a island and it will be a lot of fun...

The Big Day

Breathing heavily on my mates shoulder I screamed to move up as one line, Can you guess what my story is about...

One week on a happy wednesday I had forgotten all about the big day. So when I arrived to school they had runners everywhere looking for me.The first person I saw was my mate Uili (Willie). He said to me to go to the hall, What was happening???

As I approached the hall my coach Mr Marks told me to get changed and get ready for TOUCH!!! I had forgot about this day and I wasn’t ready for this. I rushed and got everything packed into my bag and we finally walked to dunkirk reserve.

Our first game was against tamaki primary Team No.2 so we thought that was going to be a easy game. It was a pretty tight game and the score was 5-0 to US! Our next game was against Bailey Road School. But that was even tighter and the score was 0-3 to Us again!!!

We were on the road to glory and our third game was so easy against Glen Brae and the score was the same as the first and it was 5-0 to us. “This is our semi-final and if we win this game we were in the finals” We versed tamaki primary Team No.1 I scored 2 tries and my position was the dummy half. The final score was 8-0 to........US!!!!

“Yeah” Mr Marks screamed to our team “We are in the finals against Glen Innes Primary. I only scored 3 tries and they kept us in our own half in the first half and in the second half we kept them in their own half. We have been dreaming of winning this and that all of our hard work finally paid off. So the final score was 2-0 tooooo......... US!!!!

That’s right we won the touch inter-school competition and we cheered and Frankie said “Be Humble” and from that day forward we kept everyone scoreless and no scored a point against us.

A Dreadful Journey

I’ve been trying to survive the night, as the time keeps passing the more cold the night Becomes. Will I make it through???...

It’s a sunny sunday morning when I decided to do one of my exciting adventures again. It was just going to be me until my dog “Marley” was so desperate to come with me. So I pack a good supply of water,food,shelter and clothes, But I did not know what I was up for?

My decision was final, and I wanted to go out west of australia, to Explore what nature has to offer and also collect some stuff as I went through. Just before I went into the forest I had this weird tingle in my stomach. But it was nothing I was just stinky...

“I Just need a shower” But in other words I need to find a waterfall. Bathing myself I was surrounded by bushes and I heard this some kind of a grumble, It was shaking the ground, AND THEN!!.... the next thing I know I think that I’m in some underground cave but no, It was just some rocks piled on me... How could I get out of this one???

This was one of the wildest adventures I’ve had in 2 years. I managed to get out in then I saw blood gushing out of my leg. Screaming my head off, no one could hear me.I remembered that I had a cell in my pocket. I pulled it out waving it around in the air but there was no signal.

I pointed out to myself “maybe tomorrow someone would come rescue me. It always happened to me in the past. The next day I woke up straight away, not with joy but with PAIN! I stood up but that was a very dangerous move. I collapsed on the floor. Crawling my way to the car, something very odd happened. My car wasn’t there but a another Van was.

I man with a deer fur coat on, jeans and a machete in his hand, Said to me... “ are you alright sonny?” Then I explained the whole story to him then he shouted at me.. “ How come you didn’t even look at the road there was a big parade going on there. But do you need a ride Home???” He whispered.

One Heck Of A Night

Down in the whitewater River Bank something terrible happened, my friends and I went for a late swim in the dark.The bank water was flowing down to a waterfall smoothly but too smooth. Mr Burt said “Never swim at night time or, never swim without a parent watching you”. But I said “I’ll be fine I don’t care” Then it happened.


BANG! An almighty scream echoed through the woods and it dragged him down with a tremendous THUD.Jesse managed to get his head up to get some air. Would anyone react soon???

We waited for a moment and someone reacted. IT WAS ME, I jumped onto it’s back, it was scaly,hard ,and it looked at me! It was A CROCODILE! I screamed and thought to myself ,if I try to open the jaw My friend would poke the eyes and hopefully it would loosen up It’s grip.While my other friend would lift Jesse’s head up to get air.

It worked! Jumping out of the water desperately I wanted to get my gun and shoot it right in the head. I wrapped my towel and shirts around the wound and applied pressure. My friend John would ring the paramedics and get help. Jesse said “ I could only see about 2 cm of my leg and the rest was in his gob.”

The Paramedics took about 30 minutes to get there, By the time Jesse’s lips had no colour. But he was just cold. Arriving back home I was so relieved,Until Mr Burt was sitting on the couch with a Grumpy Face. “UH OHH”

Shoplifter (Narrative)

After being woken by a screaming magpie, I looked out of the window to see the sun beaming in my eyes,I thought it would be a great day to ride my rollerskates outside. My nana asked me to go down to the shop and get a loaf of bread. Roller-Skating downhill to hopefully glance something at the shops as I gone past ,such as arguing customers. As I reached the local dairy, “Oh” I said,”they don’t have the tv guides outside now???” Or was it something from stopping that???

I decided that enough was enough and I went looking to find something suspicious. Finding a secret passage way to get into the shop and I saw big tough men with guns.It was sad the only hostage was the cashier who was at gunpoint.

I sneaked around to find that their was a big bottle of coca-cola on the bread. It was a devastating decision for me, It was now or never. But you know what I did... I got the                 Coke.I had a plan, to the counter with my bread and coke and said” I have to pay for this” Got the womans hand I ran for the door fizzing the coke and throwing it at the men and it was like a mini grenade.

It fizzed up and the lids popped open hitting and blinding the man. While the fizz of the coke would spray everywhere causing it to get into the mans eyes.

Docking Day

This week I have been learning about docking (Animals). Well docking is where you cut off a lambs tail,stopping it to be eaten by maggots! Now you'r wondering "How does that happen"? So basicly the Lamb poops then, it leaves a bit of poo every time. So if we didn't dock them then flies will lay eggs and make the maggots to eat the lamb. Heres two sentences to explain why this was the best docking day Ever!!!

"This was the best docking day Ever because a van came tumbuling down the hill and guess what was inside it??? Crates full of CHOCOLATE!!! So it was a chocolate Van... Also we could finally roll down the big hill."

That was the two sentences now I'm going to show you the two similes that I saw in the story and I put them into a picture. Enjoy!!!

Farewell Mrs Verry

Today The 14 of September 2012 Mrs Verry, a Point England teacher is retiring from her job. Mrs Verry You have been very helpful with camps. Hopefully you can visit us some other time in your life.

Paper Box

Today I have created a magnificent creative decorated paper box. I’m going to show you step by step on how to make this box.

Step 1: Fold the paper in half and fold again so it has four quarters.

Step 2:Then do it again but,on the other side.

Step 3:Then there will be a cres on the top of the paper and fold the corners.

Step 4:Then fold a little bit of paper on the corners

KONY 2012

Last weekend I watched a video clip on Youtube called “Kony2012”. If you don’t know who Joseph Kony is, then this is the story for you!

Do you think that Joseph Kony is a bad person or a good person? Joseph Kony is a very bad person who does some unspeakable things to kids. Here’s ONE of the things that Joseph Kony does... He abducts children and makes them make their parents disappear in other words Kill them!

Hello there, if you’re reading this that means you want to get better at Shot-Put! Shot Put is a Sport of strength,agility and just....strength!

One type of shot put style is the glide,I’m telling you this because it is only done for older kids, amatuers and professional female shot-putters.

In the Olympics, the female shot putters technique is the glide and the glide only.The best world record is 21.36 made by Nadzeya Ostapchuk from Belarus. But she had taken drugs therefore she doesn’t have the world record,It’s Valerie Adams from NEW ZEALAND!!!!!

I will tell you about the things in Shot Put. There is a round circle where you stand in and where you make your put from. There is also some powder that grips onto your shot.

Now i’m going to tell you about some of the rules in shot put. First you HAVE to stand in the circle and not leave until the shot has landed.So you cannot just leave in the middle of the throw you have to stay until it has landed...

Some Shot-Put tips I’m giving you is, that you need a good diet,a very toned upper body and practise,practise,practise.What I would do to help me get all those tips is to watch your health,workout most of the day,and practise!!!

                        This Weekend was like no other weekend before, as I got...

“Aahh” I sighed as I woke up to the sound of my mother screaming at the T.V,because she was watching Eric Murray and Hamish Bond,in the lead by about two lengths of their rowing boats. Of course they won another Gold for New Zealand. Once I looked at my Dad he was watching an eye at the Warehouse online for Pool ,and he was looking at a particular table that was $400.

Then my Dad said “Okay do you want the pool table as an early Christmas present...” “yeah yeah” my sister and I agreed. So my Dad brother and I went to buy a pool table. When we got there my Dad had gotten a very polite man to help us roll the table to our van. As soon as we got home my Dad put together the pool table.

It took about 2-3 hours to put together,and finally it was accomplished and now it was time to whip butt. I had some skill because I played at my mums work because they have a snooker table. My first battle was my sister who I bet and I wiped my brother by about 5 balls to go. But my dad was too good and he bet me by 2 balls to go...

My player I would go for in a competition would be Chao Fong Pang. Because he is the World’s best 8 Ball Pool player...

Medley Relay Event

As far as we know in the olympics,the medley relay swimming event is one of the most popular spectator sports. It involves four types of swimming strokes in one order. Each stroke is carried on by a different team member.


The aim of the event is to backstroke two 50 meter lanes and when they get to the first 50 meters they flip and kick off the wall.Then when they finish they touch the other end with their hand and then the other teammate dives in and do the 100 meters and then the routine goes on and on until you and your team finish

...The clothing that is needed in the medley relay competition is a swimsuit, jons or anything that cover their parts. What equipment they use is lane ropes to keep the swimmers,not getting into the other swimmers way. They swim in a 50 m pool.

… The skills that you need to compete is the right movements, great agility,strength and fast and powerful kicks.That will surely make you an olympic athlete...

The medley swimming event is very cool to watch on t.v but would be way better in real life.One of the athletes that I would like to be is Michael Phelps

...As far as we know in the olympics,the medley relay swimming event is one of the most featured sport. It involves four types of swimming strokes in one order,and only swimming. Each stroke is carried on by a different team member.


Paragraph 2
...Four strokes in the medley relay event are backstroke followed on by butterfly then breaststroke and last freestyle. The first member hops into the water with feet and hands on the rail and go they push off and then after they touch the other end the other members dive in until it finishes.

...The aim of the game is to swim the 100 meters. which would be to one length of the leisure pool twice. They compete in a 50 meter pool. The equipment they use is speedos,goggles and sometimes,head caps! Head caps make your head slice through the water like a bullet....

Chariot Racing

Chariot racing is one of the most popular event in the ancient greek,roman and Byzantine olympics in olympia. It was important to them. The point of the game is to knock the opposition off their horse. If you were famous your wheels will have spears on their.

There would be a lot of deaths and injuries in those days, imagine it today!!! The Chariot started to end when the Fall of Rome happened. That means that rome took over Greece. It was only Byzantine who survived it. That is how it officially ended

A Bee's Stinger!!!

Why do bees sting??? They only sting when someone is provoking them or driving them up the wall. There alarmed and ready to fight.They sting you with their weapon.

Only the worker bee can sting. When they sting you they get stuck,because the stinger has a tiny barb on it,much like a mini hook. It also injects a single drop of poison into your system.

Everyone says that a bee can only sting once then it dies,well that is because the person who gets stung knocks the bee, causing the barb in the stinger to stay into the person's body injuring the bee and then it dies. But if you left the bee to sting it pulls out the stinger...naturally.

It is true if a bee can sting as many times as they want, but only if we do not separate the stinger from the bee.

Ancient Wrestling

The Greek boys were taught wrestling at school. Ancient wrestling is not like wrestling today. They would be taught in the Palaestra. A Palaestra is a large public place where you can train.

It was because there was a lot of war around greece.They would be trained to self defend themselves and kill other people other than greek people. Boys in greece would learn how to flip and take down any people. They got taken over by the romans.

Olympic London 2012

Swifter,higher,stronger is the Motto for the Olympic Games. The latin words for swifter,higher,stronger is Citius Altius Fortius. Baron de Coubertin borrowed the motto from his Father,Henri Martin Dideon,a headmaster of a school in paris. They use this motto to encourage the athletes.

The Flames is one of the ancient traditions that they use in the olympics. It starts in Olympia,greece,when it gets lit ONLY by the sun's rays months before the opening ceremony. Then gets relayed to country to country until it gets to the host city.

The flame gets carried into the stadium to the cauldron,where it gets lit until the it burns out or until the last event,then it gets extinguished. Only one famous person can light the cauldron. I think the person who lights the cauldron is David Beckham this year.

The Olympic's 2012

The Olympics is where all athletes come together with each other and try to win for their country.Baron Pierre De Coubertin is the awesome man who created the rings to represent the 6 nations of Blue,Black,Red,Yellow,green on a white background.

At the olympics,the flag gets hoisted up in the stadium on the opening ceremony, it represents the nations.The flag has the 5 rings on it and it stays up there for the entire games from start to end. When the flag is lowered down that means the Olympics are officially over.

My Very Own Music rhythm

Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh. A very very famous artist, who created masterpieces. Vincent painted with very thick oil paint. He sometimes used a knife instead of a brush! And he would slap on the paint,but he drew great pictures with it.

Van Gogh had a very sad life. Most of the time he was angry. He was so angry that he cropped off his ear and sended it to his girlfriend as a present!!! Would you say that is weird???

Starry Starry Night

Starry Starry Night is one of Vincent Van Gogh’s most famous paintings of all time,but his favorite was the Almond Blossom tree. Mine would be the potato eaters... Vincent made it in the 1980’s way before I was born, he painted it on a canvas using oil paint.

The objects on Starry Starry Night are the very tall and pointy cypress tree, also the church’s steeple is very pointy as well. Houses and my favorite object of all is the bright stars and the big swirling wind in the middle of the painting. Do you want to know something eye catching??? Well in the top right-hand corner, people think it’s a star, well it’s not it’s a moon!!!

When I look closely at this painting I feel that he was the mood of life and death! Can you see that the stars were bright and the tree was depressed and the is what I think that he was thinking???

There’s some cool facts about Vincent Van Gogh and i’m going to tell you some. Van Gogh was an impressionist. Impressionist’s are painters who paint what they feel inside of them and that is why Van Gogh painted Starry Starry Night. Also Van Gogh had different jobs such as a Preacher, Art dealer and then an Artist again.

Vincent Van Gogh was a very artistic man and he was sad most of his life and he had only sold one of his painting in his entire life. Van Gogh was my favourite artist.

Swimming Is The Bomb

 

  In the past few days we have been swimming at the Glen Innes pools. Once we got there we had to swim, but it was to see what group we were in. At the end I was in group 3 the advanced group.

Our first activity was called “ kicking “. We had to kick on the floaters and go all the way to the other end of the pool. The thing about that is it was really really tiring. The most shocking thing of all is that we do it every day!!!

The favorite exercise I liked, was the 9 o'clock change. The 9 o’clock change is where you lay on your back and put one hand in the water, then one hand behind you. After that you have a push off and then your hand behind you,springs up into the air and then in a slit moment you put your “air hand” on the water and flip your other hand behind you.

Sounds hard but when you get the hang of it, it’s really not that bad as you think it is!!! Finally it’s the end of the lesson ohh but we still have a little bit of time left and we spend it on free time!!! My friends and I were lifting each other and slamming them into the pool.

I love swimming because im really good at it and it gets my stamina up and if you're hot (In temperature) it’s another way to “cool off”

Van Gogh's Life

Vincent Van Gogh. A very very famous artist, who created masterpieces. Vincent painted with very thick oil paint. He sometimes used a knife instead of a brush! And he would slap on the paint,but he drew great pictures with it.

Van Gogh had a very sad life. Most of the time he was angry. One time he had a fit of anger and then cut part of his ear off!!! Would you say that is weird???

In time Van Gogh had a flatmate. His name was Paul Gauguin, he is also a famous artist as well. Van Gogh painted sunflowers and placed four in Gauguin’s room. They became good friends, one day Paul left because they had a argument.

In 1890 Van Gogh died of la gunshot wound two days later. He actually killed himself.... Why would he do that??? I think that he was sad because Gauguin left him and he also would of died because the infection would of gone worst.

Sunflowers Vincent Van Gogh

This well-known painter was Vincent Van Gogh. He made this very bright and colorful painting and that was called “Sunflowers”.This painting was made with oil paint and is 73 X 92 cm. He made masterpiece in 1888. When they first saw it no one wanted to buy it, but now it’s worth millions!!!

The Colour of the “Sunflowers” are a little bit of red, brown and yellow, sometimes he would buy paint instead of FOOD!!! Also he wouldn’t use a brush??? He used a knife!!!

Van Gogh Sunflower painting was very very thick. It was so thick that you can see it in the petals and in the books! Im trying to tell you that his painting is thick.
What I like about the “Sunflowers” is that there is a mixture of old and dead sunflowers and their is also shine rebounded off the vase. But what I really don’t like about it is that he didn’t make it move like the others...

I think that Van Gogh painted this picture because he kept thinking about his friend Paul Gauguin and how his room looked like...

I know that Van Gogh had a sad life, his friend went, his ears gone and I would not want to be him! But I would want to have his art skills and his technique. If I was him now I would be a millionaire and I would live in a big mansion

Making Paper Cups

This Week on Tuesday in Extension we made Paper Cups for some fun, and to learn about the art of folding paper. At the end I lernt how to make a paper cup off by-heart... making it wasn't really hard to figure out by i got some help.

I created this out of paper,scissors and my brain skills!!!

Anzac Writing And picture

During the holidays on a friday my family and I got three free tickets to Rainbow’s End. My Mum, my Dad, my Sister and I went.

I woke up with excitement and jumped out of my bed. I rushed breakfast, brushing my teeth,and so forth I stopped and watched pair of kings.

Once we arrived there was a really huge and long line. But what do you expect when you go to Rainbow’s End. Our first ride we went on that was obvious for our family and that was the dodgems. I jammed my sister. But my Mum jammed me very well. Because she squashed me in the corner and I couldn’t get out..

Next my Mum and I went on the Fearfall. There wasn’t a very long line. Maybe because people are scared of the ride??? I don’t know!!! Were in the ride, we go straight up and I started to hear a tick and I counted “one, two aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh “ we  went down and my mum screamed her head off!!!

It finally came to the end and we stayed there for the whole time!!! 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. My favourite ride for me was the... FEARFALL because that was the first time i’ve been on that ride. Plus my mum has the loudest scream EVER!!!
